Geek

I’m starting my third project on art my topic name is called surfaces, so it has a lot of poetic license as most things have surfaces. We have to show the surfaces, such as showing tone and texture. Before we start anything we have to collect some images of what we would like to study. I would like to have this as almost a fashion project, researching designers and such, so I’ve collected photo and editorials, tell me which you think I should draw or if you have any other ideas for my project.

Heres the pictures of my school uniform I promised, all thats missing is my blazer and that just makes me look like a man, does anyone else have a uniform or am I the only unlucky one.

oohh how exciting, you could do the entire project on surface patterns - if you did you simply MUST include Alexander McQueen's rainbow maxi dress from Spring 08

i think shiny would be hard to do in an art project. but also the most fun.

as for surfaces, I think it would be interesting to do something like a contrasting program, like silk and leather, then portraying the ideas of each look.

anyways: I didn´t have a school unifrom but I always thought of it as so fierce. after seeing `cruel intentions´, namely.

I don't wear a uniform at my school, but I like yours. I had to wear one in elementary school though, so I know that it sucks to wear the same thing everyday...
& I live in New York. It's not special at all.

For a school uniform yours is pretty damn cute hun. Seriously my college uniform consisted of a wash of teal like a murky bacteria ridden pond and our skirts HAD to be to our knees. *sigh* so glad thats in my past now :P You've managed to gather such lovely piccies too. I really like the aura that comes across from the first!

Does it have to be about texture? Couldn't it be about how what you wear is like showing your personality 'on the surface' and how you are inside might be different...? It could be a styling project! Or Penny's idea about prints is a good one.

I do wear a uniform; I love it. It's not the most flattering, but it's so easy to get ready for school.
